Our teddies came to school today!
Today Mr Ellis asked us to bring our favourite teddies to school. We told one another about our teddies: where they came from; how long we have had them; what they are made from; and why they are special to us.
Our teddies had a lovely time meeting one another. We wish they could come to school every day!
We love darts!
On Friday morning we practised our maths skills with a game of darts. Everyone wanted to play!
We threw our darts at the board. Then we had to say the number that was one MORE than our number, and the number that is one LESS than our number too. It was quite tricky but we were allowed to use a number line to help us.
Do you know how to work out one more and one less?

We saw a fantastic show about bullying
This week it's Anti-Bullying Week. We had some special visitors this morning called Becky and Adam. They came to perform a show about verbal bullying. It was funny.
We talked about the show afterwards in class. It taught us these things about bullying:
1. Tell a teacher.
2. Tell mum, dad, or a grown up you trust.
3. Don't fight back, walk away.
Thanks, Becky, Adam, Pip the Pig, and Jenny for visiting our school!

We visited Heatons Library
Yesterday morning we went to Heatons Library. We were invited by Eddie, the librarian, who wanted to teach us all about how libraries work.
We set off after the morning register. It was quite a long way but it was such a sunny morning that we didn't mind. Max the puppy came with us.
When we got there Eddie talked to us about how we could join the library and showed us all the different types of books we could borrow. He taught us a fantastic song and told us a brilliant story too. We also had lots of time to look at the books with our friends. We really want to go there again!
Thanks very much to Eddie and all the staff at Heatons Library for making us feel so welcome. Thanks also to all the parents joined us - we wouldn't have been able to walk there and back as safely without your help!

Making a map
This afternoon we've been using the Toca Builders app on the iPads. We're going to be using the app to make a map showing our school over the next few weeks. Today we practised using the different robots to find out which ones will be best for making our maps. Mr Ellis gave us a challenge: he wanted to find out which robot would be the quickest for painting the whole floor the same colour.
Why don't you come and ask us what we found out?
