Old Toys

This morning Miss Murray brought some old toys into class. She brought a doll, a treehouse, some skittles, a wooden top, a tractor, a robot and a soft rabbit.

The skittles were made of wood. Her great grandad made them for her grandpa. They are more than 100 years old.

Thanks, Miss Murray!

Where should we put our bug hotel?

We want some bugs to come and live in our bug hotel.

We had to decide whereabouts in the playground to put it.

We thought about putting it in the middle of the playground, but we didn't think very many bugs would come to visit.

Then we went onto the field. We thought that bugs would like the grass, but then
we thought of an even better place.

We took the bug hotel to the nature area. We know that bugs like eating dead leaves and plants, and dead creatures, so we thought they would be very happy there.

Peshawa and Mr Ellis tried pushing the bug hotel into the ground, but it was too hard, so we moved it somewhere softer.

Next week we will go back outside to see whether any bugs have come to stay in our hotel.

International Day of Languages

Yesterday our whole school celebrated International Day of Languages. In Year One we celebrated by learning lots of new French words, trying some tasty French bread and cheese, and playing some French games.

Altogether now.... 'BONJOUR!'
