Visit to St John's Church
This week at school we are celebrating Festivals Week, and in Year one we are learning about why churches are important places for Christian people.
We were lucky enough to be able to visit St John's church in Heaton Mersey yesterday afternoon, where we were able to see some of the features of churches that we'd been learning about in school. We saw stained glass windows, pews, an altar, candles, a font and lots of other things too.
Thank you to the vicar, Marcus Maxwell, for making us feel so welcome and giving us such an interesting tour. Thanks also to the army of mums who came along to help us walk to and from school - we really couldn't have done it without your help.
Why not come and ask us about some of the things that we saw - we'd love to tell you!
