Feathers and crabs
On thursday we went to the beach and we found some seagull/s feathers on the beach. 
A masked crab was on the beach. It 's beautiful.

Year One visit the seaside
After learning lots about the kinds of features you might see at the seaside over the last few weeks, as well as the ways that going to the seaside has changed since our grandparents and great grandparents were little, we finally had chance to go to the seaside and see things for ourselves at Formby yesterday.
We packed up our buckets and spades and, even though it was pouring with rain, covered ourselves in suncream, just in case. We were a bit worried that we might have to spend the day hiding under a shelter, but we were really lucky and it stayed dry all day.
We started the day with a fantastic investigation with Patrick, a helpful ranger from the National Trust, who told us lots about the things we found scattered along the strandline. Then he taught us some fun games before we enjoyed a big picnic lunch together on the sand.
After that it was nearly time to go home, but not before we'd had a sandcastle building competition, a little splash around, and a game of football. We wished we could have stayed all day!
Well done to everyone in Year One for your fantastic behaviour and great manners all day, and big thank yous to all the adults who helped from school. Special thanks also go to Patrick who made us laugh and taught us lots about why beaches are such special places.
